Spine accustoms epidermis, mocking eyes regenerate
Plants collected from various therapeutic gardens later processed by removing chlorophyll, 3d prints of animal prosthetics, hand moulded PETG, snake chains, bronze
P.E.T. Projects, Athens
2025
As the result of a new commission, the works were created through collecting disposed plants from a therapeutic garden in Athens and from wild plants growing on a temple of Asclepius, one of the first examples of healing centres in western history. The plants were later transformed by removing the chlorophyll, in this way arresting decay and suspend the passage of time. These were later combined with 3d prints of ancient ex-votos: objects depicting bodily parts which were offered to the gods to be healed. The meditative process focused on the sensory exploration of these healing materials has led me to imagine these creations as amulets: objects that hold the potential for healing and restoration, reconstructed from fragments left behind.
