Pistils embedded under nails. Allowing oneself to be accompanied, nude scent reassures.
Plants collected from various therapeutic gardens later processed by removing chlorophyll, 3d prints of animal prothesis.
Panorama gallery, Venice
2025
The installation environment created for Panorama is a space crystallized in time, in which plants from different therapeutic gardens in Venice and Belgium create an intimate and delicate atmosphere. Following his residence in the lagoon, in fact, Luca Vanello transformed the collected plant elements and assembled them into sculptures after extracting the vital element, chlorophyll. The natural cycle of decay is thus suspended through a technique that interrupts any effect related to the passage of time. In this way, the fragments of the plants begin to live a double intertwined existence, at the same time fragile and resistant. Within this other dimension, the viewer finds himself in a space where it is possible to come into contact with unfamiliar materials: the impossible game between vulnerability and lack of it manages to create a common ground of relationship between organisms. To the plant elements, the artist also adds other synthetic fragments, parts of 3D printed animal prostheses, which open up further questions about the role of technology in contexts of fragility. This interaction between natural, human and technological aims to investigate the functions of care and protection according to meanings projected over time. How will the environments we live in transform in the future? How will our concept of vulnerability change
