Libidinous drip makes home on lignin veins, acre humidity reminds
Disposed healing plants collected during rehabilitation process of surrounding site, later processed by removing chlorophyll; hand molded PETG; snake chains; 3d printed animal prothesis; rain; pulverised filtering organic agent sentient to humidity; dripping system with water containing appeasing animal hormone; water responsive 3d prints of AI imagined seeds; plant nutrient extracted from pulverised object, wind.
Horst Arts and Music exhibition
Vilvoorde - Brussels
2024
The installation results from a year long research of a nearby site which has been disrupted by human intervention. Disposed plants from the site were collected and later processed them by removing the chlorophyll, in this way wishing to evoke a feeling of pausing the energy they carry with them.
Taking a closer look, one discovers transparent sculptures made with materials used in robotics. A dripping system with water containing appeasing animal hormone slowly fills the sculptures. The liquid interacts with water responsive 3d print.
Nearby, shapeless blobs made from hydrophilic matter slowly change in time.As rainwater drips discreetly, the shape of those blobs evolves throughout the exhibition as they absorb moisture from the air and rainfall. Simultaneously, the humidity that emanates from them affects 3D printed elements nearby. These are based on AI speculations of how seeds will look in the future. As they slowly melt, plant nutrients are released and dispersed as the visitor moves around the space.
As rainwater drips discreetly, the shapes of these water loving blobs evolve throughout the exhibition as they absorb moisture from the air and rainfall.
Simultaneously, the humidity that emanates from them affects 3D printed elements nearby. These are based on AI speculations of how seeds will look in the future. The 3D printed elments are composed of a water soluble material. As they slowly melt, plant nutrients are released and dispersed as the visitor moves around the space.
